2013 Back to School

Everyone is back at school.  Quinton went back a couple weeks before Georgia and Carter.  Quinton was not happy about that.  Today was the first morning he did not complain that he didn't want to go to school.  I think it was because it was the first morning his class also got to play at the spray park that is at British Primary Prep (his school).
Quinton on his first morning of school, it was so humid my camera lens fogged up.

The summer vacation is just a few weeks too long here.  It would be nice if they had a shorter summer break and more time off during the school year when the weather is more pleasant.  We went to the neighborhood pools a lot to pass the days and to get some exercise.  Playing in water is the only thing can really do outside when it is so hot and humid.  Georgia also attended a week long art camp that was in the mornings.  She went to the same art school last summer for a couple camps and really enjoys them.

Carter and Georgia first day of school

It has been a dry summer here and of course the first day it rains in weeks was also the first day of school.  We managed to miss it on the way to school but even though we had umbrellas we got soaked on our way home that day.

Carter was finally convinced to try riding his bike without training wheels.  He was reluctant but took to it right away no problem and was very proud of this accomplishment.  Sorry the video is  blurry.

Word got out around the neighborhood quickly and inspired Carter's friend next door, Jacob, to ride without training wheels.  Also their friend Alex learned of this and is feeling the pressure to loose his training wheels (or stabilizers as his Irish mother calls them).

We also got Georgia a new cruiser bike, which she is quite happy with.

I'm finding it a bit quiet with everyone gone during the day.  I start volunteering at the school library tomorrow.

Hope you are all well.
