Halloween Edition

Hello, well we had a great Halloween.  Michael flew home from Brazil the night before.  He got home at 7:45 AM on the 31st!  Just in time to go to the Tom Wilson Book Character parade.  The public schools aren't allowed to celebrate Halloween so the kids were to dress as book characters.  Georgia went as Pocahontas and Carter went as a Ninja (book was Nighttime Ninja).  Unfortunately we had torrential rains.  The kids had to be driven to school and the parade took place indoors.  It was a bit chaotic, crowded and started late but was fun in the end.  The talk of the week was worry trick or treating would be cancelled as the forecast was 100% chance of rain.  And when it rains here it is a deluge not a gentle rain.  Fortunately it cleared up in the afternoon and we had a beautiful evening.  Not even sticky and unbearable humid but fresh and the perfect temperature for Trick or Treating.

We also attended Quinton's school party on last Friday evening.  Lots of food and games at that. Quinton and I were still recovering from a horrible stomach virus we came down with the day before.  But we managed to play a few games.  On Sunday we attended a party in the neighborhood playground hosted by a couple neighbors.  This party almost got rained out as well but rain stopped in time and the kids enjoyed the games and seeing their friends.

Kind of glad this week is over.  Took Skye to the vet as she has been sporadically throwing up.  Turned out she was very ill.  She had an ultra sound yesterday and it seems all of her major organs are getting old at the same time!  Can't really find one cause for her problems.  But now she is being treated for liver failure, pancreatitis and gall bladder build up.  And poor Kasey had an upsetting episode Friday when we got home from the school party. I found her collapsed on the floor struggling to breath.  I'm hoping it was due to her spitting out one of her heart pills.  With both dogs on different special diets, Kasey's 3 pills and Skye's 5 pills  I feel like we are running a nursing home for dogs!  At least Princess is healthy.  And Michael is home for a few days.
